Here the
trichomes are clear, signaling that the plant is still not ready for harvest. Clear
trichomes usually lend themselves to a smooth, body high smoke.

Here the plant is showing some amber
trichomes which means they have started to dry up. This trait will usually lead to a harsher more heady smoke. Lots of people think it's an optimal time to harvest when your plant is just starting to show signs of the ambering trichomes.

In my opinion, the stage in between the clear
trichomes and the amber
trichomes where you get milky headed ones, provide the overall best high with the combined attributes of the other two.
Depending on your strain and the
trichome development of your plant you should be able to craft a personal high to your liking.
